Glistening, bubbly, and sparkling in the joyous celebration of Kathleen and Kelvin’s wedding reception on Saturday, October 8, 2011. During the morning reception, guest dined on a brunch style menu that included garden salad, fresh fruit, Belgian waffles with blueberry and cherry toppings, assorted pastries, an omelet station, Salmon over a bed of rice, garlic mashed potatoes, and green bean almondine.
Centerpieces alternated between tall vases filled with white roses, babies breath and purple wild flowers, and beautiful, swooping candle arrangement with a small bird perched on top. The lights from the votives of the candle arrangements provided soft lightning when set against the white linens and black napkins.
Each guest received a candy favor that included dark chocolate kisses and milk chocolates.
The gorgeous four-tiered cake was made by Kathleen’s mom and included white icing with lace details, purple flowers, purple satin ribbon, and swirl patterns. It is a tradition in Kathleen’s family that her mother cuts and serves a slice of cake to the bride and groom. Kathleen’s mother created German chocolate and white cake batter with strawberry filling that all the guests and the bride and groom enjoyed.
Congratulations Kathleen and Kelvin!
