Tables were adorned with framed Dr. Seuss quotes and photos of the bride and groom on Saturday, August 13, 2011. The color and demeanour of the room was bright, cheerful, and unique for Lauren and David Parker’s wedding reception. The reception definitely showcased the bride and groom’s personal taste and style. Teal and pink were the colors for the reception and were incorporated in the framed letters the bride and groom penned to each other. Lauren and David mixed and mingled with their extensive group of family and friends. Guests dined on appetizers, a large candy buffet from Sweet Creations by Judy, and cake from Jodee’s bakery.
The tables were covered in white floor length linens and draped with a Tiffany Blue Satin Overlay. At the center of each table was a coke bottle with the couples new last name and wedding date on a customized label. Also included on the tables were frames in pink and teal with photos of the couple and fun sayings from their relationship . A few of our favorite sayings were: “How sweet it is to be loved by you”, “Just living a fairytale”, and “TCFBYUC” which stands for “Thank Goodness For BYU Chemistry” where the couple met. The quotes displayed on the tables provided a peak into the bride and groom’s relationship.
The three-tiered cake provided by Jodee’s Bakery had white icing with white cut out hearts around the perimeter. The cake had a colorful, unique aspect to it as well that included a single teal heart. The flavors included orange cake with mango mousse, almond cherry cake with pineapple baverin, and strawberry cake batter with chocolate shavings and a vanilla baverian similar to the taste of Neapolitan ice cream.
The cake topper featured a bride pulling the groom by the collar. This cake topper was unique from several others because this begrudging groom was adorned with Lakers memorabilia in honor of David’s favorite basketball team.
